Esnes 0.11a and Snes 97 rocks yer world

Esnes 0.11a is about head to head with snes97, as it now runs ff3, chrono trigger and much more! As the 'emu wars' heat up, it pleases me to know that the competetion between esnes and snes97 is friendly, unlike people who make their emulators commercial. We all wish esnes and the_teacher&company the best of luck, and we hope to see much more from esnes and snes97 in the future!

OWC Award won!

We won the OWC award for excellence today, and I am proud to accept it and display it on my site where it will remain for the days ahead to come. I am very proud to say that ever since I started the domain in november, that more and more people have been coming. Thanks to all have you who support the site, and I will continue to update the site! Emulation 4ever!

Playable M-Engine Released!

A playable version of the TG-16/PC Engine Emulator, Magic Engine, has just been released. This version has a time limit of 15 minutes, can only load roms of 256KB or less, and has no sound, but, it is playable. Download it at Dave's Classic Games.

Ding, Dong, DC is dead!

As Cixel from #emuroms stated so beautifully, DC has disbanded. Thank God, I say, now the emulation scene can try to make something out of this. I can inform you all that GitM is working hard to bring you the best in NES roms and translations/hacks. TyphoonZ has AR on archaic-ruins.parodius.com now, so we shall see what happens..

Mindrape has destroyed NESticle

Mindrape has recently STOLEN the source for nesticle from Sardu, and distributed it in efnet's #emu. Even after many people objected he continued to offer it. Now Sardu has discontinued NESticle because of this. A Big FUCK YOU to Mindrape (Yes, this is the first time you've ever seen cursing on ZD and hopefully the last). Many of the #emu people have gone to #eos, since almost NO ONE supports what Mindrape did. Oh, and Mindrape has most likely screwed DC over because of this. Thanks a lot Mindrape you bastard....we're hope you are happy with what you've done..

Haruki Ikeda has died

He will be missed greatly, as he was invaluable to the emulation scene. In memory of Haruki Ikeda, we ask for anyone who wants to start a genesis emulator project, a colloberative effort, as Haruki was in the middle of coding Kyoto when he got into his car accident and was killed...we must not let his memory be in vain...

NESticle 0.2 released!!! GET IT NOW!!! INES KILLER!!!!!!

NESticle was released recently and it is GREAT!!! Good sound and great pallete, with win95 and dos versions included!! Get it now and try it fer yerself!!!!

News page updated:TZ puts email of critic on his page!

TyphoonZ of Damaged Cybernetics recently added a new 'feature' to AR, to put emails of people who disagree with him on his page for all to see. One to be noted is http://www.futureone.com/~damaged/AR/Archaic/articles/bashtz.txt, in which The_Sheik, formerly known as Fuzzbuster, critizized TyphoonZ's page. the result was TyphoonZ putting it on display for all to see, along with Shiek's email, in hopes to add popularity to his page. However, if you read the email carefully, you will notice that many good points are brought up. Besides the fact that TZ had called the group formerly known as CC 'warez kiddies', I did not see TZ critizized for that at all. The fact of the mater of it is this people, if you support The Shiek and his comments, let us know! You can post on the Message Board , or just send us an email! But remember, the answer to constructive critizism is not to make fun of it, but to listen to it and fix the problems that are brought up by the people who email you...It says to email TZ is you have questions or comments...and this was NOT a rom request, so YOU decide.

Marat Fayzulin : Commercial Programmer or Greedy Fiend?

VGB-DOS, which had recently been discontinued , was Marcel De kogel's Port of VGB-WIN, and when he discontinued it, another person decided topick the project up. But because Marat did not want it to continue, it had to be dropped again. Why? I think Marat's outageous price of 35$ for the VGB-WIN, with no sound and not as many features as the Dos port, was doing so bad that he needed to find a way to get people to buy it, and VGB-DOS was too good. These are my opinions, and not the opinions of Marat Fayzullin, Marcel DeKogel, or anyone else involved in the VGB project.

VSMC '97 SW Released! V. 9702D!

Still with its yellow pallete, which hopefully will be removed soon, VSMC is now in 97, and can run the best RPG's like FF3 and Chrono Trigger. Although the shareware version barely shows this, you can make out the words in all its yellow ugliness. Unless you have 35$ , break out yer gameboy eyes!

ZOPHAR'S DOMAIN HACKED!!

We were recently hacked , and all of the files were deleted. HOWEVER, I in all my infinite wisdom, kept backups of everything but the messages on the wwwboard, so after uploading, all that was lost were the old messages on the web board. Big Deal! By the way, for those of you who want to know who did it, I cannot say for sure, but I suspect The Emulator Ring is behind it somehow, I talked to some inside sources who report joining a ring and getting attempts of people trying to log on as them! Well, BE CAREFUL! You have been warned.

ESNEs 0.09a is getting close to VSMC status!!

FF2 now runs on ESNES! Bug fixes, ok speed and the fact that it is FREE make ESNES the choice for most people! Rain now falls in Zelda3, and games like FF3 and BOF may be working well soon!

N64 Emulators do NOT Exsist! They are fake if you see them!

Recently I have received an "emulator" for the N64. It is a Fake! The person who sent it to me was on the IRC, with the nick Termite. If you see him, do NOT accept this emulator, instead mail me at shadow5@ziplink.net and tell me.

ESNES 0.087b released! ESNES page updated!

ESNES 0.087b was just released! Now with full color thanks to the fading implemented, and an activate/deactivate option for background colors (for games such as Zelda), this will be the BEST snes emulator to date! Way to go!

Coleco Ultimate Beta2 released!

Frogger has released Coleco Ultimate , a coleco emulator that looks extremely promising! when i make some more sections (Coleco and Atari and so on), this emulator will be listed there as well! Good Job Frogger!

VSMC 97 shipping soon!

On The Brain's page, he has indicated that VSMC '97 can now run games such as FF5j and Mario All stars! However. the shareware version is still at 9612a, and when 97 does come out in shareware form, it will be crippled like 9612a. Hmm...maybe its time to register...

New NES emulator with awesome sound!

Currently known only as "Famicom," this new emulator uses digital sound. The games are *.fam with 12k (yes, 12k!) headers. The emu will be here for download shortly. Until then, jump to this ftp site to check it out!

TrepSNES 0.3 Beta released!

The windows version is still in 0.1 until he gets graphics working. It doesn't really do much more, but the source code is released and updated, and is much better.

ESNES's page has dissapeared, without a trace. Maybe he got a new isp, but we are looking into the situation. Keep checking back for any new developments

SYSTEM 16 Arcade Emulator 0.53 is out

Just Released, now has primitive sound support. However, if you packed your roms with rompacker, get the unpakced roms or you won't have sound!

N64 roms released!!

Hard to believe, but just a few days ago, N64 roms were released. Although it is nearly impossible to verify that these roms were copied correctly, it seems that they are legit. More to come!

iNES .6

iNES .6 has finally been released...BUT...there is no demo version because of the mass pirating of version .5...oh well. Only registered users will receive this new version.

Massage Goes Shareware!

Yes, it's true.Massage 0.7 goes shareware. This seems to mark an end of an era where Emulators are free.Now it seems almost all authors have jumped on the shareware wagon also. However, there is hope! Master Gear looks promising and is free! Keep on the lookout for this emulator from Marat Fayzullin!

Kyoto

Kyoto is a Genesis emulator by Haruki Ikeda! This emulator is gonna rock yer world! Stay tuned for more details on this emulator!

GenEm Dead?

Yes Marcus finally called it quits with GenEm . Will he release the source? Nope...The Web page is gone, although he says he is reviving XL-It!
